The tarots are the key element to the CG intro for Warhammer Vermintide II. They tie the old man's story about the heroes' struggle together with the maps of the realm. WThe combination of medieval illuminations and art-deco grabs the viewer’s eye and gives the narrator an aura of nobility.

This is the first time we show the Death Tarot from CG intro of Warhammer Vermintide II in its entirety. The card is partially obscured in the intro by the narrator's thumb.
Being the first Tarot we created for the intro, Death took us a multiple iterations to get right.
The final illustration is inspired by the legend of the birth of the treacherous Skaven: The Loathsome Ratmen And All Their Vile Kin.
